Our Vancouver Sailing Charters

Most charters head for at least one of the following Pacific Northwest destinations. (If you prefer, we can also have the boat meet you there. Ask for details.)

Whale Sail B&B may take Paloma anywhere in the "inside" waters of British Columbia and the waters inside Vancouver Island as far north as Port Hardy.

Whale Sail B&B cruising area generally covers the San Juan Islands in British Columbia's Southern Gulf Islands, Sunshine Coast, Jervis Inlet, Princess Louisa Inlet, Desolation Sound and Vancouver Island. The area in B.C. also includes the beautiful waters around the Northern Gulf Islands and the Redonda Islands, as well as the incredible fords along Bute and Toba inlets.

NORTHERN GULF ISLANDS CHARTERS

The Northern Gulf Islands are a little more remote and quiet than their southern partners, and offer boaters peaceful marine parks, beautiful beaches, warm water and a wide variety of wildlife viewing.

SOUTHERN GULF ISLAND CHARTERS

These islands are a continuation of the San Juan Island chain but north of the international border. The islands are less developed than their American counterparts, but every bit as scenic. There is less marine traffic as well, so the cruiser has the opportunity to enjoy a little more solitude while still enjoying the benefits of being close to the several small towns in the Islands.

SUNSHINE COAST CHARTERS

Often overlooked by cruisers on their way to Desolation Sound, this area offers both, bustling marinas and charming waterside restaurants combined with totally secluded anchorages in hundreds of little coves and protected inlets.

JERVIS INLET / PRINCESS LOUISA INLET CHARTERS

Louisa Inlet and Chatterbox Falls (at the head of Jervis Inlet) are world-famous for their scenic beauty. Jervis Inlet slices deep into the beautiful Coast Mountain Range.

DESOLATION SOUND CHARTERS

Considered by knowledgeable yachtsmen to be one of the top three cruising areas in the world (the other two being Fiji and New Zealand's Bay of Islands). Famous for calm, sheltered waters, oysters, clams, prawns, and for salmon up to 60 lbs. Actually salmon and cod are plentiful throughout our entire cruising area.

Testimonials

Garry

Located on a sailboat in a small working marina on Cormorant island in the village of Alert Bay, which you have to reach via a half hour ferry ride. This beautiful boat has a cabin, plus a salon area that can accommodate another queen bed. A very unique AirBnB which is one of my favorites in the world that I have had the good fortune of staying at. Host Judy took us on a walking tour of the town and local heritage sites. We got to see fresh fish being cleaned before the restaurant received them and had the opportunity to visit the First Nations culture center along with the many totem poles in the village. Host Judy provided a pleasant and accommodating stay for our time there.

Alert Bay......what a spot, what an energy, and what a collection of characters. It has been a fantastic couple of days, incredible even. It started off with our host, Judy, what a live wire! She met us off the ferry and guided us to our parking slots like she was giving directions to an airplane taxiing into the terminal. Then she showed us to our quarters, her 45' Catalina Morgan sailboat, Paloma. Judy is a retired nurse, beer can bbq chicken specialist and incredible story teller. After settling in she graciously introduced us to her friends and paved the way for an unforgettable visit.
